Qué es
Son lípidos que componen la matriz lipídica del estrato córneo, junto con colesterol y ácidos grasos. Hay 9 tipos identificados (Ceramide NP, AP, EOP, etc.). Su función es estructural: mantienen la barrera cutánea y evitan la pérdida transepidérmica de agua (TEWL). Cuando falla la barrera (piel atópica, rosácea, sobreuso de ácidos), las ceramidas tópicas la reparan. Marcas de farmacia como CeraVe e Isdin las usan como pilar.
Cómo usarlo
Mañana, noche o ambas. Diario. Cualquier piel se beneficia, pero crítico en piel reactiva, atópica, postretinol.
